BUTTERFLY KISS
A personal graphic design experiment exploring contrast, movement, texture and organic form through a vivid red composition.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER / SELECTED WORK
A curated exhibition of graphic design, photography and experimental visual work.
SELECTED PROJECTS / 01—0701 / WORK
Eight projects presented as one visual system. The artwork stays central; the interface behaves like projected information around it.
01
A personal graphic design experiment exploring contrast, movement, texture and organic form through a vivid red composition.
02
A personal digital composition exploring atmosphere, motion and light through a cool blue landscape and a small illuminated focal point.
03
Original surf photography transformed into a layered studio wallpaper through typography, color and graphic composition.
04
One of my earliest personal works: an experimental abstract composition exploring surreal imagery, strong color and layering.
05
I photographed the hand specifically for the artwork, developed the black-and-white album cover, and created a vinyl presentation for the artist.
06
A personal experimental project combining 3D modeling and graphic design. The metallic abstract form was modeled and rendered in AutoCAD, then colored and developed further in Procreate.
07
Created in Procreate for a surfer, inspired by the atmosphere and surf culture of Uluwatu, Bali. The piece explores the relationship between surfer, wave and landscape through an exaggerated tropical sun and a hazy, textural finish.
02 / ABOUT ME
I’m Riccardo Gentile, an Italian designer with a background in product design and a strong connection to art, photography, architecture and, above all, water.
The ocean has influenced the way I see things for as long as I can remember. Since I was three years old, some of my clearest memories have been connected to water—the smell of salt, the light reflecting across its surface, and the sense of clarity I’ve always felt when I’m in it. That relationship still finds its way into my work today. I’m drawn to flow, movement, changing colors and the contrast between raw and organic and precise and engineered.
Surfing, travel and the different environments and cultures I’ve experienced continue to shape how I think about form, texture, atmosphere and color. I combine photography with illustration, physical materials with digital processes, and structured forms with more fluid and experimental visual languages. I don’t want every project to look the same; I want the idea and feeling behind each project to determine what it becomes.
My background is in product design, but I work across graphic design, digital art, photography, spatial design and visual experimentation. I use Procreate, Photoshop, AutoCAD and SketchUp, alongside HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
This portfolio is also part of that experimentation. I designed and coded it myself—from its typography and layout to its holographic language, movement and interactive elements—treating the portfolio itself as another piece of the work rather than simply a place to display it.
